ROHM Electronics formally introduces its complete line of Hall Effect ICs for portable electronics applications. An important feature of the product family is its availability in the industry's smallest chip-scale BGA package, measuring just 1.1 mm square with a package height of just 0.5 mm. A slightly larger surface-mount package, measuring 1.6 x 1.6 x 0.6 mm, is also available. (read more)

ROHM introduces the industry's first AC/DC-isolated LED driver modules utilizing constant-current circuits optimized for driving LEDs. ROHM has recently completed development of the industry's first 6ch Power Management LSI integrating a protective function and startup sequence into a single chip. The BD8611EFV ensures high reliability by protecting the system from various power supply failures common in set systems—specifically in battery-driven equipment including portable DVD players and navigation systems. ROHM Co., Ltd. completed the development of the BD6221 H-bridge driver LSI for brush-commutated motors featuring low power consumption for high-efficiency motor driving.

ROHM's new H-bridge driver LSI series incorporates a new VREF variable system for driving brush-commutated motors with low power consumption without changing the input voltage level. (read more)

ROHM's BU1570KN Adaptive Image Enhancer IC is used to correct images, adjusting both the color and brightness adaptively in real time. The AIE algorithm core consists of three blocks: brightness determination, image enhancement and color correction. It also features a motion alarm/watchdog function that divides images into 64 areas and sends an interrupt signal to the CPU once motion is detected. (read more)

ROHM's KD2003-DG10A and KD2003-DF10A thick-film thermal printheads utilize an original heat element glaze structure for increased energy resistance and integrate high-density driver ICs, enabling high-speed (250mm/s) high-quality printing. (read more)

The LPM5123BMUA61M 16x32 dot matrix display (dot size: F2.8) utilizes original potting lens technology for significantly improved contrast and viewing angle and integrates color-correction LSIs, resulting in full-color display (over 1 billion colors) with 1,024 gradation steps for each color and no color fluctuation. ROHM's BP5222A LED driver features a wide DC input voltage range (15V-38V), an output voltage of 12V, and a high power conversion efficiency (90% at VIN=20V). ROHM's KTR series (KTR10 and KTR18) chip resistors utilize a proprietary structure and trimming process in order to deliver the world's highest voltage resistance – more than double that of conventional products – allowing only one resistor to be used in high voltage circuits normally requiring multiple resistors, resulting in increased space savings. ROHM's BD9778F/HFP flexible step-down switching regulators incorporate an oscillator and a DMOSFET that features a high voltage resistance (36V max), large current (2A max) and low ON-resistance (0.53O typ). (read more)

The newest edition to ROHM's CMOS LDO regulator lineup is the ultra-compact BHxxRB1WGUT series featuring an output current of 150mA, high output voltage accuracy (±1%), a low drop out voltage of 100mV (at Io=100mA), and consumption currents of 34µA and 0µA during operation and standby, respectively. ROHM has completed development of the NE3002-WA30A (2" model) and NE3004-WA30A (4" model) thin-film thermal printheads, which feature an original ultra hard protection film and proprietary Step-Free structure (eliminates step between the heat element and electrode), resulting in increased energy efficiency, reduced scratching and improved anti-corrosion capabilities. A photointerrupter is a light beam-operated switch that detects the presence of objects that pass between face-to-face mounted emitter / receiver elements when the light beam is blocked. Unlike a mechanical switch, a photointerrupter operates without physical contact so deterioration of contact areas are not a concern. (read more)
