RTD (resistive temperature device) elements are wire windings or other thin-film serpentines that exhibit changes in resistance with changes in temperature.

Dynamic Braking Resistors (DBRs) are used to absorb the high amount of energy generated when stopping electric motors in systems such as trains, elevators, etc

Shunts resistors are connected in parallel with an instrument or component to divert electrical current. They provide an alternate path for current in case of failure
