Power transformers convert power-level voltages from one level or phase configuration to another. They can include features for electrical isolation, power distribution, and control and instrumentation applications
Search by Specification | Learn MoreTransformer winding services design transformers and other magnetics products for application-specific and OEM usage in a variety of industrial, medical, military, aerospace, telecommunications, commercial and specialty applications.
Search by Specification | Learn MoreCurrent sense transformers are used to detect and measure current. There are two basic types of products: switch-mode transformers for power conversion applications, and precision-measurement transformers for instrumentation applications
Search by Specification | Learn MoreSignal transformers transfer information from one circuit to another by electromagnetic induction. They are used to increase or decrease the voltage from one side of a power transformer to the other
Search by Specification | Learn MoreToroidal transformers typically consist of copper wire wrapped around a cylindrical core. This design prevents the magnetic flux that occurs within the coil from leaking
Search by Specification | Learn MoreCurrent transformers are used to step down current in a very predictable fashion with respect to current and phase. They are generally used as inputs to current instruments
Search by Specification | Learn MoreInstrument transformers are used to step-down current or voltage to measurable values. They provide standardized, useable levels of current or voltage in a variety of power monitoring and measurement applications
Search by Specification | Learn MoreTransformer Test Equipment consists of specialized test modules or systems used to test and/or monitor electrical and mechanical parameters of transformers and other related devices
Search by Specification | Learn MoreAudio transformers are involved in the transmission of voice or sound signals. They often require wide frequency bandwidth with low distortion and noise suppression
Search by Specification | Learn MoreRF transformers transfer energy from one circuit to another by electromagnetic induction. Typically, they are used to increase or decrease voltage as it passes from one side through the other
Search by Specification | Learn MoreDistribution transformers are pole-type transformers that supply relatively small amounts of power to residences. They are used at the end of an electrical utility’s delivery system
Learn MoreVoltage and potential transformers are used to measure voltage in electric circuits. Their main role is to condition (step down) the voltage to be measured to levels suitable for the measuring instrument
Learn MoreSwitch mode transformers (switching transformers) are used mainly in switching power supplies and DC-DC converters. They provide a storage element for transferring energy from input to output in discrete packets as required in switching power supplies, regulators and converters
Search by Specification | Learn MoreTelecom transformers are used in applications which require high bandwidths and fast switching speeds. They isolate the signal between primary and secondary grounds. This product area includes DSL, xDSL, T1, E1, ISDN, LAN, WAN, Ethernet, ATM and modem transformers
Search by Specification | Learn MorePulse transformers interface a pulse forming network (PFN) and a load. They match the impedance of the load to the PFN in order to maximize power-transfer efficiency

The magnetic flux in a typical A.C. transformer core alternates between positive and negative values. The magnetic flux in the typical pulse transformer does not. The typical pulse transformer operates in an "unipolar" mode (flux density may meet but does not cross zero). (read more)
The A41 series Split Bobbin International Chassis Mount Transformers are designed to provide the high isolation, creepage and clearance necessary to comply with international safety standards. (read more)
Two for One triple output chassis mount transformers:
Signal's MT and DMT Series transformers offer the performance and feature of our "241" series but in a triple output format (read more)
Signal's Rectifier Power transformers provide a wide variety of outputs. This series of conservatively designed transformers are manufactured using traditional materials and layer wound techniques. (read more)
Typical maintenance of transformers includes periodic testing of the nitrogen blanket for flammable vapors to evaluate the health of the transformer. If the testing reveals a buildup of flammable vapors, the transformer can be removed from service in a planned manner instead of a catastrophic manner (such as an explosion). (read more)
The Transformer Advantage is a precision temperature monitor for liquid immersed power and distribution transformers. It is rugged, fully electronic and field configurable. With Transformer Advantage, users can extend transformer life, utilize maximum capacity and reduce maintenance costs. (read more)
Printed Circuit Mount Split Bobbin with High Isolation
From 1.1 Va to 36 Va Signal's Split Bobbin ( Single Primary and Dual Primary Versions) offer superior isolation and low capacitive coupling ! (read more)
Pulse Transformers for radar, oncology and laser systems. RFI's pulse transformers are used for matching the voltage and impedance of the PFN to the RF power tubes. (read more)
Toroidal transformers are the high performers among transformers. They offer the smallest size (by volume and weight), less leakage inductance, and lower electromagnetic interference (EMI). Their windings cool better because of the proportionally larger surface area. A 360 degree wound toroidal transformer has a high degree of symmetry. (read more)
What is the purpose of a current transformer? It measures alternating current flowing through a conductor. Since it is used to measure current, a current transformer is often classified as a type of instrument transformer. One could measure the voltage drop across a known resistor. This is okay for low current applications but is often impractical for high current applications. (read more)
