WAGO Corporation is pleased to announce the addition of motion control capability in the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM family of products. Designated the 750-670, this new module provides stepper motor and servo drive control in a compact 12mm wide package.
"By integrating stepper motor and servo drive control into the fieldbus node (PLC or PC based), customers can eliminate the need for a separate motion controller," said Mark DeCramer, Product Manager of the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM. "This allows for one software platform for both motion and logic control requirements thereby simplifying application development, trouble shooting, as well as reducing overall installation costs."
The 750-670 supports two pulse output patterns, step/direction or incremental encoder, which are configured via a function block in WAGO's IEC 61131-3 programming tool - WAGO-I/O-PRO CAA. Communication with the stepper or servo drive is established via an RS-422 interface and controlled by a variable output frequency (0 to 500kHz). Furthermore, two digital inputs can be easily configured to support common motion signals such as, start/stop, jog/trip, right/left, reference, next position, end-stop, master clock, etc.
The 750-670 is also 100% compatible with all other WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM 750 Series modules, allowing the free combination of digital, analog, and special function signals (such as encoder, up down counter, serial, etc.) in the same fieldbus node. In addition, a free choice of over 16 different fieldbus communication types (EtherNet/IP, Modbus/TCP, DeviceNet, Profibus, CANopen, etc.) is available. Other features include; 24 bit resolution for accurate positioning, 8 LEDs for status indication and diagnostics, CAGE CLAMPÒ wiring technology, and more.
