Spectrum Control, Inc.'s new MSM series of surface mount EMI filters offers a footprint of 0.078 inches by 0.049 inches. Designed for use in dense circuit configurations, the high-temperature construction of these feed-thru filters allows for current ratings up to 10 Amps. These compact filters allow minimal residual inductance and the self-regulating frequency extends to the microwave band making them ideal for high-frequency noise control.
Spectrum’s MSM filters feature capacitance values from 47pF to 1000pF with a capacitance tolerance of +50/-20%. Operating temperature ranges from –25°C to +85°C and –55°C to +125°C, with temperature characteristics ranging from +/-15% to +22/-82%.
MSM miniature surface mount EMI filters are constructed of lead-free, RoHS-compliant ceramic with low-resistance multilayer electrodes to provide superior resistance to solder heat. Additional features include a working voltage of 50 VDC, insulation resistance of 1.0 MÙ, and Ni-Barrier terminations. The filters are available in tape and reel, or bulk packaging.
These filters are ideal for use in the automotive, medical, industrial, and telecom markets. Applications for the surface mount filters include DC power supply lines and signal lines in automotive electronics, base stations for mobile telephones, microwave transmission, test equipment, medical apparatus, industrial meter, and DC-DC converters. Pricing ranges from 25 cents to 50 cents with an eight-week standard lead time.
