Fairview, PA - March 25, 2006 - Spectrum Control, Inc. now offers RoHS/lead free versions of their Resin Sealed Bolt-in EMI Filters. These filters come in a wide range of sizes: 4-40 thread through 5/16-24 thread, and have voltage ratings to 500 VDC/220 VAC. Multiple circuit configurations are available including C, L and Pi. Spectrum also provides metric threaded resin sealed filter options. All of Spectrum Control's Resin Sealed Filter components can be built in accordance with Mil-PRF-15733 and Mil-PRF-28861. Spectrum provides reliability screening to Mil-PRF-15733 and Mil-PRF-28861 Class B Group C, as well as "R" level screening in their Hi-Rel laboratory. These RoHS compliant filters are drop in replacements for standard designs and are now stocked in distribution.

Spectrum Control's Resin Sealed filters are easily mounted in a tapped hole or thru-hole with supplied nut and lock-washer. The rugged case with resin seals at both ends provides excellent environmental protection. Custom and value added designs are available. These filters offer easy substitution and are ideal for use where solder is undesirable. RoHS/lead free compliance is based on the European Community Directive 2002/95/EC calling for a restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The six substances specifically addressed are lead (Pb), mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd), hexavalent chromium Cr (VI), polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
