Power Filters Meet New Global EMI Standards

Power Filters Meet New Global EMI Standards

FAIRVIEW, PA – December 2005 – Spectrum Control, Inc. offers customized EMI power filters designed to meet updated requirements for filtering conducted emissions in the frequency range of 150 kHz to 30 MHz. NARTE-certified engineers develop power filter solutions in Spectrum Control's fully equipped EMC lab specifically to meet these new CISPR 15, GR1089, and FCC-Part 15 standards. Spectrum's engineering teams will work with existing filter circuits and power interconnects to develop a filter that meets these new standards with minimal impact on current system design.

In July 2005, the current emissions requirements of 450 kHz to 30 MHz were expanded to the 150 kHz to 30 MHz range. Spectrum Control power filters include high current feed-thru filters, high current terminal blocks, power entry modules (including fused/switched and fused), power line filters, military/aerospace multisection filters, and commercial custom assemblies. The new customized filters meet the needs of system providers responsible for complying with the new harmonized regulatory standards at lower frequencies.

Spectrum Control conducts state-of-the-art testing in both an ambient-free anechoic chamber and a shielded room to identify and correct EMI susceptibility or emission problems. Computer controlled EMI receivers with quasi-peak detection accumulate data to display in graphical or tabular formats. Spectrum Control's computer-generated test data saves time and improves accuracy. Fiber optic coupled video cameras allow for dynamic test observation.

Spectrum Control, an ISO 9001 and QS 9000 certified company, designs, manufactures and markets a broad line of EMI/RFI filters and power components, microwave components and power management systems. The Spectrum Control Signal & Power Integrity Products Group produces EMI/RFI components and filtered power components including discrete surface mount filters, resin sealed and hermetically sealed EMI filters, EMI filtered arrays, EMI filtered connectors, ESD/EFT protected connectors, filtered datacom connectors, gaskets and shielding, single line filters, filtered terminal blocks, power entry modules, power line filters, military/aerospace multisection filters and commercial custom assemblies.
