Leviton Manufacturing Company has expanded its line of Commercial Grade Tamper-Resistant Receptacles to include a popular Decora® designer-style duplex receptacle. Leviton's line of commercial grade tamper-resistant receptacles complies with NEC article 517.18(C), the standard requiring receptacles in pediatric wards and pediatric patient care areas of health care and institutional facilities to be either tamper-resistant or include a tamper-resistant cover. Available in side-wired 15 Amp,125V versions, the line of receptacles is also well suited for use in health care, daycare, and psychiatric care facilities, commercial facilities, homes with small children, as well as any application environment where toddlers and children are apt to come in contact with an energized receptacle's contacts.

Leviton's line of Commercial Grade Tamper-Resistant Receptacles features a built-in shutter design that prevents the insertion of small objects into the receptacle's contact slots while enabling easy insertion of a properly rated plug. Constructed of impact-resistant thermoplastic covers, both traditional style and the new Decora style devices are built to withstand abuse in demanding residential, institutional, healthcare and commercial applications. A side-wiring feature enables the receptacles to be installed quickly and easily. A self-grounding clip provides automatic grounding in properly grounded metal wall boxes.

The new Decora model is available in Ivory, White and Almond to coordinate with most interior decors. Both traditional and Decora models are identified with the words "tamper-resistant" molded on the face. They are backed by Leviton's Limited Ten-Year Warranty and comply with UL 498, CSA and NOM standards.
