0.4mm pitch QFN Socket

0.4mm pitch QFN Socket

Socket your 12 position QFN without significant performance loss and with minimal increase in PC Board footprint

BURNSVILLE, MN – Ironwood Electronics has recently introduced a new high performance QFN socket for 0.4mm pitch devices. The SS-QFN12D-01 socket, designed for a 2mm package size, operates at bandwidths up to 11.5Ghz with less than 1dB of insertion loss. Designed for up to 500,000 actuation cycles, the socket is able to dissipate up to 7 watts over a temperature range of –40C to +120C without the need for an additional heatsink. This is all accomplished within a 2.5mm larger border, the smallest footprint available to the industry.

The SS-QFN12D-01 socket utilizes high endurance spring pins, which allow for product use in multiple applications including burn-in, production test, and prototype development. In addition to its wide temperature range and high endurance the pin operates with an inductance of 1.1nH and with a capacitance to ground of 0.58pF. Normal force for actuation is only 20gms per pin with a typical contact resistance of 62 mOhms.
