Path Way® Remotely Controllable Network Switch
Model 7344 RJ45 100-Base-T A/B Switch with Password Serial Remote, Cat 5 Compliant

The PathWay® Model 7344 Cat5 RJ45 Interface A/B Switch allows users to connect a workstation or device between two other devices or networks. The switch employs an RJ45 Cat5 connector interface on ports A, B, and Common. A front panel pushbutton allows the user to select the switch position. LED indicators on the front panel display the switch position.

The unit also has an RS232 serial port for secure access and remote control. The Remote port is an enhanced Supervisory Remote Port, i.e. the command structure allows monitoring and control of the switch unit, and requires password login to access. A terminal or a computer in terminal mode connected to this port can communicate with the unit, determine its status, change the switch position as desired, and/or lockout front panel switching capability.

• All pins of the RJ45 interface are switched.
• All switched signals are passed via copper contact relays that maintain their position and continuity even in the event of a power loss or failure.
• Interface meets Category 5 performance (10/100 Networks).
• The switch ports are transparent to all data.
• Position change can be from front panel pushbutton or over the RS232 Serial Remote port.
• Remote commands allow change of switch position, query of switch position, and lock/unlock front panel control.
• Enhanced supervisory remote port with password login to access.
• Front panel LED indicators display the switch position and power status.
