APEM's SCSI Series pushwheel switches set a new standard for miniature size in panel mounting pushwheel switches. These tiny units have a front panel bezel size of only .500" wide x .591" high and they press fit securely from the front of the panel into a cutout .425" wide x .562" high. The installed depth is a mere .906" with printed circuit board.
Although specifically designed for computer peripheral SCSI numbering applications, they are also ideal for other applications requiring a tiny pushwheel switch. The SCSI models are available with 8 or 10 position binary coded decimal or 16 position hexadecimal codes.
All models have a black housing and drum with easy readability white lettered characters, .122" high for 8 or 10 position models and .094" high for 16 positions. Additional features include recessed actuator buttons to prevent accidental operation, ESD protection up to 8 kilovolts and 'audible click' tactile feedback.
Contacts are gold over nickel on copper alloy with ratings of 0.5 amps max. (static) or 100 milliamps max. (dynamic) at 40 volts max.. The SCSI models provide a minimum electric life of 10,000 switching cycles and a well defined actuation force of approx. 18 ounces.
For ease of installation, a choice of five header configurations are offered to satisfy socket insertion or various solder pin attitudes. Additional special features are available from the factory including red digits, decimal points, special codes and stops and cable harnessing.
